The New, Mellow Season 2 Expertease

Hey, uh, listeners, this is our new season, it's season two. This is the Expertise Comedy Podcast, but you know, for season two, we're really trying to change the mood. That's my comedy partner Clare there, going pachaa. That's one of the things we're doing to, you know, kind of jazz up and mellow out at the same time. Danno, do you mind if I, I'm not, I don't really think of myself as a comedy partner anymore. No, no Clare. Oh, I'm glad to hear it because I don't like labeling things anymore. Did you used to like labeling things? I loved it. I had one of those clicker things.

A label maker. Well, a clicker thing that made labels. I feel like even that though, you're putting a label on the label thing, you know, and why? You're right. You're right. Do we need that in this world? Well, how would I know what it does? Well, you would know what it does because. Because it says label maker on it. So you're not, you're not putting the label on it, man. Danno, is this the intro? Is this the actual intro? I need to label this just for my records. Oh, let's decide between us and then we'll know how best to label it. Well, this is the non-labeling section of the introduction.

You just labeled it as the non-labeling section. Good. That's just what I'm going to write it down as. Okay. Yeah. Get that into the old Excel spreadsheet. Yeah. Okay. Good. Let's get back to not labeling. Just a simple introduction to season two for the expertise, formerly comedy podcast. Now the no labels podcast, you know, anything goes. But I feel like in our second season, Claire, we've got this new vibe about it. It's just kind of exhilarating and yet calming. It's like Ovaltine. You know, you get the sugar rush for the excitement, but then you get the lactate overwash that just calms you right down, ready for Betty.

And I think that's an experience to share with our podcast listeners, don't you think? I would think that, but I don't know what you're talking about. Which part? Ovaltine? Have you never had Ovaltine? Well, I've heard of it. Oh, but it does come in a jar with a label and I forgot, Claire. It's going to be really, really hard to carry on what we call a conversation if we really just can't label anything. With no labeling. You can't label. Yeah. So is this still part of the introduction though? I need to label this in my... This is part two of a five-part introduction.

Does that help? Yeah. No, that's good. That's good. Yeah. Just get that into the old Excel spreadsheet there. I just like to know where we are. No labels now. I'm just going down the outline, Claire. And you've got the same outline. Yeah. This came down from Chris Noddy Pine and the All Hands Memo. Yes. All Hands, which again, that's not very inclusive. Oh, no, no, no. It only refers to Chris Noddy Pine, who believe me, if you're alone in a room with the guy is all hands. Right. Wow. Yeah. I've seen some of mine. So yeah. Why don't you go ahead and jump to point three on the outline?

Hold on. I just got to pull that up. Yeah. Bring that up. File B on C of season two of Exodus. Now, Claire, of course, I'll be editing all this out. I don't think our listeners want to sit through us preparing to prepare. Right. But it might make the bloopers real. I just want to make them real because they've been so fake. We've been just making up all our bloopers and writing them out, scripting them. Well, that's the thing. You know, all these writers are writing the outline for our show. Yeah. So I just feel like we're doing what the man tells us to. Well, that's the right thing to do in the land of America.

To do what the man tells you to. Yeah. Don't you think? I mean, isn't that how our great society was? I don't want to label it as society. I don't think that's how anything began in America, Claire. It was all about rebellion. It was not doing what the man tells you to. It was doing the opposite of what the man tells you to. Exactly. It was like whoever was in charge of the rebellion, you would do what they told you. Oh, right. Right. Yeah. So like the sub man. Yeah. The sub man. Sub man. Sub man. That's where it's at. That's where the rebellion's at. Follow the sub man.

Yeah. This is all going to have to come right out because it's not in the script, but you know, it's, I feel like, Claire, this is just us kind of getting to know each other again for season two. For season two. Season two. And you know what? The sub man is going to make us pay for the recording time that we're using. Let's use it in the way that we feel is most beneficial to us. Right. He's the sub man. We're the human. This is good, Dana. So this is like for the blooper reel, I'm just going to add in some sound effects. That's like a spring or a bling. Also like you can make it sound like you've stuttered even when you haven't, you go back in and you edit it like it was a stutter and you just put it in the blooper reel.

Now mostly I've been using the opposite effect to take out your stutter. What? A lot of people have written in, not to complain, you know, our listeners are the most accepting. Charming. I think. I can't tell. Was that a special effect or was that your actual natural stutter? Oh, my natural stutter is a special effect. Great. Dana, I have a question. I am feeling like our new sort of non-labeling mellow approach to season two. Season two. I feel like, I'm afraid it might just be boring. I appreciate where you're coming from. Yeah, yeah. But you know, this, it's a podcast, Claire, and a podcast is a format which is just naturally thrilling.

I think that's why so many people tune in to listen, because there's just an excitement and you're just listening with those ears that God gave you to something like Claire Sarah's mellow voice. Just talking about anything, about nothing. Talking about things that are boring. As God intended. What's more boring than God, Claire? Right. I've read the Bible. Give me six days and I'll find six other things to do. And on the seventh day, I'll still rest. Dana, actually, you know, I'm kind of enjoying this sort of hyped up, blood rush, blasphemous take. Maybe that's what season two is about.

All right. So maybe instead of mellow, it's blasphemy. When was the last good old fashioned blasphemic podcast? I don't know of any podcaster who's been burned at a stake, Claire. That's kind of the hallmark of a good blasphemy, right? I mean, how would a burning at a stake work in a podcast? Would you just hear the flames? What if we served burned steak as kind of a hors d'oeuvre? This is good, Dana. I feel like this could be really controversy. Well, it would be very controversial within the office structure, because, you know, as soon as Mr. Pine hears that we're going off script, whoa, away from mellow season two, you know, we might actually be burned at the stake.

Well, he's also very religious, so he would be easily insulted. Easy to offend. So am I, actually. I mean, I've offended myself three times since I came on the podcast. Yeah, and I couldn't help but notice that you've been igniting the hem of your garments as if to burn yourself at a symbolic stake. Yeah, a symbolic stake, which would be more like a Tofurky situation. If anyone did listen into this, they'd be able to smell what I smell, which I think is Claire's seared ankles. Yeah. Now, wasn't that the origin of your last name, Sierra, comes from seared ankles?

When we came across on the boat, we dropped the uncles, because it was just too hard for Americans to pronounce. Yeah, on my ship, we dropped the anchor. So you were Daniel's hallowing anchor? Yes. It's also French. I've almost lost it, but I think I was thinking in the moment that we just do a season two French. You know what, Claire? I love it. There is a whole untapped market of Le France, and who's doing podcasts for the French? Not us. Not us. Not any of the English-speaking podcasts that I listen to. It's a whole new audience. You know, Claire, we make most of the money on our podcast through our Buy Me a Coffee link on the website, and I can just imagine doing the podcast in French, and it would be Buy Me Un Cafe.

Oh, I didn't even think of that actually using French words. So, you were thinking that we would do an English-speaking podcast in French. Well, I mean, I don't label it English-speaking or French-speaking. That's so mellow of you. We would just use our words, whatever words we wanted to speak about things that made us feel French. Well, I'm real happy to invite all our listeners to Le Saison Deuxième, which might be the 12th season. I don't want to put labels on it. I was just trying to put a label on it in French, and I see the logic of your stance, Claire.

Labels create chaos. And Danno, I really enjoyed what we just shared, which made me feel French, which was a long, awkward pause. Yes, longer than a woman's baguette. Hold on.
